About the book.
Leadership, in its sincerest form, is an act of service. Yet for many leaders, especially those who bear the weight of spiritual, communal, or institutional responsibility, this service comes at a cost. Beneath the expectations, the pressures, and the relentless demands lies an often, unspoken reality: the trauma of leadership.
In Post Traumatic Leadership Syndrome: Unveiling a Problem Most Leaders Don’t Know They Have, Dr. Jeffrey Dennis masterfully illuminates the challenges that many leaders face but rarely discuss. He gives language to the silent struggles of pastors, executives, community leaders, and those called to serve in roles that demand much but often replenish little. With wisdom, compassion, and scholarly insight, Dr. Dennis introduces the concept of Post Traumatic Leadership Syndrome (PTLS), a condition that captures the cumulative emotional, mental, and spiritual toll of leadership under unrelenting pressure.
About the writer.

Jeffrey Dennis serves as the Senior Pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio. He is a graduate of Ashland Theological Seminary. He is the founder and CEO of the Minority Behavioral Health Group (MBHG), a nationally accredited, state certified mental health agency offering culturally tailored counseling services.
As a certified Grief Recovery Specialist, Pastor Dennis assists individuals in working through the pain of loss. His innovative programs include Project A.G.A.P.E., aimed at uplifting African American males and their families, and Mother to Son, which empowers single mothers and their sons.
A passionate advocate for mental health, he is also the founder of The 100, an initiative designed to guide 100 men through 200 hours of mental health training for personal development and ultimately equipping them with state certification in prevention work. This initiative also creates a pool of men trained to serve as credible messengers in violence intervention and prevention efforts.
